Junior Credit Analyst

Role: The proactive management of a portfolio of buyers through the gathering and assessment of information in a high pressure and time sensitive environment.

Challenges: The correct and accurate grading of companies to minimise or preferably avoid altogether, claims due to non-payment or insolvency and business rescue.

Reporting Line: Credit Director

Main tasks include but are not limited to:

• Buyer assessment making use of bureau sourced information and financial statements.
• Maintaining contact with buyers and other sources of information to have the necessary information available to accurately assess files.
• Assist with other regular tasks including the answering of internal queries, processing of information related to late payment or non-payment, and reviewing monitoring alerts received from bureaus and other information sources.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Response time for grading of files
• Response time for reviews
• Adhering to internal SLAs for resolving risk queries

Required Functional Skills:

• Undergraduate degree with specialisation in commerce or finance.
• Market knowledge regarding the macro-economic environment and sectors within the South African economy.
• Good knowledge of Finance and Credit Management.
• Expertise and experience in credit assessment.
• Analytical mind with an ability to pay attention to detail.
• Interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team but also be self-motivated and work independently when required.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), fluency in Afrikaans is a plus.
