Hauptaufgaben

As a Language Assistant (Office Automation) in the United States Military Training Mission (USMTM), Directorate of Mission Relations, you will:

-Provide a wide range of administrative support services for the Directorate of Mission Relations.
-Translate from English to Arabic and vice versa a wide variety of forms, applications, reports, records and instructions.
-Interpret for Arabic/English speaking personnel members.
-Manage, prepare, coordinate, track and issue in-processing/out-processing requirements (visas, passports, badges...).
-Manage the Assistance-In-Kind – Environmental Morale Leave (AIK-EML) program by validating eligibility, processing requests and distributing tickets.
-Administer the Access database, office automation systems and various common software packages to maintain personnel records.
-Serve as the point of contact for all foreign visa requirements for personnel and family members.

Qualifikationsanforderungen

In order to receive consideration for this position, candidates must meet the basic requirement and the specialized experience/education/training requirement, as defined in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards. Additionally, the quality of the experience must clearly demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

•Applicants will be evaluated to ensure language proficiency, training and experience/education meet the qualification requirements defined in the Multi-National Recruitment System (MNRS) vacancy announcement.

•Quality of experience relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background and recent experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the position. Applicants must have the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level.

•Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a DOD Third State Worker T1 position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction. Proof will be required before you can be referred to Management.

•Time in Grade Restriction: Must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).

-For a T1-05 position, this is not applicable.

-For a T1-06 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the T1-05.

-For a T1-07 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the T1-06.

•There is an Individual Occupational Requirement for this position:

Basic requirement: Applicants must possess the degree of language proficiency required to perform the work of the position to be filled.

In addition to the basic requirement, applicants must meet specialized experience and/or education requirements as described hereunder.

EXPERIENCE:

The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the basic qualification requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.

To qualify for T1-05, the applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the T1-04 (or equivalent) level.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1.Performing work that requires communicating in written and spoken Arabic and English.
2.Advising on and assisting with preparation of documentation.
3.Performing basic administrative and clerical support functions.

To qualify for T1-06, the applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the T1-05 (or equivalent) level.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1.Performing work that requires communicating in written and spoken Arabic and English.
2.Advising on passport and foreign visa requirements.
3.Administering databases and office automation systems to maintain personnel records.

To qualify for T1-07, the applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the T1-06 (or equivalent) level.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
1.Preparing, tracking, issuing and coordinating in-processing and out-processing requirements.
2.Performing written and verbal translations from Arabic to English and vice versa.
3.Managing a travel program (verifying eligibility, processing requests, tracking status of requests, …).

The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

EDUCATION:

Regarding education, please ensure full completeness of your profile in MNRS under "Educational/Occupational Training".
Degrees and transcripts will be required if you are claiming substitution of education for experience and/or if there is a basic/minimum education requirement. If the degree/diploma is submitted in any other language than English, a certified translation will be required to allow the BENELUX Civilian HR Service Center to verify the level of education claimed. US education accreditation is not required.

Substitution of education: For the T1-05 level, four years above high school. Generally, education is not creditable at the T1-06 and T1-07 level; however, it may be credited in those few instances where it is directly related to the work of the position.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

•Must be able to pass a security background check to obtain and maintain security access.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

•90-day trial period may be required.
•Work week in Saudi Arabia is Sunday through Thursday.
•Position may require overtime work.
•The position may be filled at any grade level with non-competitive promotion potential to target grade.
