The Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery that packages products in vertical form-fill-seal bags. It is based on the technical understanding of the machinery, its part, and the manufacturing of product with it.
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup
- Calibrating and setting up the vertical form fill seal system machines to start production cycles.
- Operation Monitoring
- Controlling and adjusting machine settings, such as speed and temperature, to ensure efficient operation.
- Feeding Materials
- Loading raw materials or parts into the machine for packaging.
- Quality Control
- Inspecting packaged products for defects and ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Troubleshooting
- Identifying and fixing issues that arise during operation.
- Maintenance
- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of the machines to prevent breakdowns.
- Record Keeping
- Maintaining logs of machine activity, PM activities, CIL lists.
- Formal Education Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school diploma or GED.
- Vocational Training: Vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields preferred.
- Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding how machinery works and being able to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring that the packaging process meets quality standards and identifying defects.
- Technical Skills: Operating and adjusting machine settings, such as speed and temperature.
- Problem-Solving: Quickly diagnosing and resolving issues that arise during operation.
- Safety Awareness: Adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Production experience in food manufacturing preferred.
