We are looking for a market-facing Production Underwriter to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of Underwriting for Technical and Portfolio within our Personal Injury division. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring new business, leveraging existing relationships, and contributing to the development of our new Accident and Health product line. This position offers a valuable opportunity to be part of an expanding team and work on an innovative product proposition.

About the role

  • As a new product within Allianz, developing and maintaining best-in-market relationships across assigned panel of Brokers through strong market facing activity and presence to accompany case underwriting of opportunities
  • Ensuring business bound is aligning with divisional objectives as well as growth and profit portfolio balance.
  • Identifying profitable new business opportunities, prospecting and maximising the conversion or strike rate of desired business.
  • Working closely with divisional Account Management & Claims in delivery of the service offering
  • Keeping abreast of market conditions, trends, and providing feedback to team members while acting to capitalise on new business opportunities.
  • Monitoring the quality of individual and team work, ensuring underwriting procedures are being adhered to.
  • Underwriting insurance risks in area of responsibility, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards.

About you

  • Significant experience in an operational, commercial underwriting role or account management within Accident and Health or life insurance is highly desired.
  • Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge, and elicit beneficial outcomes.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks, and manage competing resources and demands.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high-quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret and analyse a range of data, identify patterns, trends, and links that inform judgments and solutions.
  • Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and can quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and industry accreditations, where necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact, and influence.
