We are looking for an Executive General Adjuster (m/f/d). The role can be based in one our offices: New York City, Chicago ,O’Fallon, MO or Alpharetta.
Your Team
You will be working with a small but diverse team of claims professionals of various experience levels and backgrounds, in a collegial and supportive atmosphere that values individual strengths and encourages professional development and participation in industry leadership.
The Impact You Will Have
The Executive General Adjuster will proactively direct / investigate, negotiate and resolve high exposure claims, involving complex issues and/or litigation, service orientated, cost effective manner. In addition the Executive General Adjuster will:
Drive third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external customers.
Train and develop team and act as a technical referral point for other Claims Handlers.
Proactively manage assigned accounts.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Claims Strategy - Support development claims LoB strategy to ensure profitable growth and a strong market position.
Proactively produce effective data and analyses to support complex decision making.
Drive excellence in claims handling service provided to brokers, clients and internal customers.
Investigation and Reserving of Claims
Direct investigation of multi faceted, high exposure domestic and international claims that involve complex issues and/or litigation.
Proactively evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels.
Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Loss Adjusters).
Settlement
Negotiate and resolve high exposure, complex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions.
Manage external counsel in performing coverage analysis and resolution strategies, including development and implementation of defense strategies on litigated claims.
Market Management
Proactively support acqusition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary).
Proactively manage selected Allianz accounts, cross LoB.
Relationship Management
Positively represent AGCS externally to the market.
Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters).
What You’ll Bring to the Role
11+ years’ experience of a proven track record in handling international commercial claims involving complex coverage and damage issues.
Claims Handling: Expert knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery.
Reinsurance and coinsurance: Robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application.
Reserving: Expert knowledge of reserving principles and practices.
Preferably completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Preferably completion of professional insurance qualifcation (e.g. CII)
Minimum of 10 years experience understanding of LoB products and portfolio, with expert understanding of coverage and in depth experience of application in the adjustment process.
Minimum of 10 years of demonstrable, established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.
Minimum of 10 years of detailed understanding of legal and regulatory framework
Products and Coverages: Expert understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages - specifically complex claims.
Litigation: Robust understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation).
Experience working in complex, global matrix organization, and of working overseas.
In depth understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape.
Product and Coverages: Detailed understanding of Property, Natural Resources and Construction claims products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages
Demonstrate established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties.
Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally. Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story.
Coaching: Ability to advise, instruct, direct, and guide as a coach to help someone develop his/ her skills.
IT skills (Office applications): Use general office application tools e.g. Power Point, Excel, Word.
AI skills - The ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making is valuable.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $117,235 - $196,887227,009. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
