What you do:

You will have a pivotal role within the U.S. corporate tax team, responsible for designing and implementing advanced data processes and analytics that enhance tax compliance and reporting. In addition, this role is responsible for assisting with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s tax technology solutions, tax software, and tax data systems. This role has a guiding mandate of continuous improvement and a focus on enabling and empowering the tax department to achieve process efficiency, operational excellence, and insightful analytics. This role will work with a cross-functional team of tax professionals, information technology teams, and business partners to ensure the highest level of quality in tax compliance and reporting processes. You will report to the Sr. Tax Director.

Business Intelligence and Data Analytics:

• Develop and implement sophisticated tax computational and analytics data tools and visualizations using industry-standard tools such as Power BI.
• Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for key decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business areas to understand needs and accelerate the adoption of self-serve analytics solutions across the organization.
• Lead and participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and ongoing support of solutions.

Tax Technology and Process Improvements:

• Partner with technology, accounting, and global teams to design and optimize tax process solutions, ensuring alignment with Allianz’s standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and safeguard tax-related data systems, supporting the execution of robust internal controls and enhancing process documentation.

Software Architecture and Support:

• Assist with the management of tax department owned software and technologies, including overall department data strategy, vendor selection, software implementation, and related ongoing maintenance and support.
• Identify and mitigate tax technology risks, ensuring compliance and system/computational integrity.

Training and Development:

• Facilitate training sessions for business partners and tax professionals, promoting continuous learning and technological proficiency within the tax teams.
• Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)

What you bring:

• 4-5 years of experience required
• Four-year degree required
• Proficiency in data visualization tools, database querying languages, and advanced programming languages.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven experience in developing process solutions using Microsoft Products (Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, OneDrive) and/or automation tools like Alteryx.
• You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $160,000
