Hauptaufgaben

Incumbent provides daily cleaning service to an assigned block of rooms in the Army Lodging Facility and on a rotational basis: empties and cleans trashcans and ashtrays, makes beds and changes linens bi-weekly or on guests' departure. Changes mattress pads, bedspreads, blankets, ironing board covers, and shower curtains as required. Dusts furniture, doors, windowsills, pictures, light fixtures, radio, telephones, ceiling fans, vents, and wall hangings. Sweeps, dry mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors. Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilets, washbasins, tubs, and showers. Mops bathroom floors, replaces soap, toilet paper, and towels as required; cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains. Folds and places newspapers neatly with all other reading material on table. Fills out room cleaning reports and reports anything missing to the supervisor. Defrosts refrigerators, cleans ovens, toasters, coffee makers, microwaves, dishwashers, and irons. Shampoos rugs, washes walls, blinds, woodwork and radiators. Rotates and vacuums mattresses; disposes of trash. Moves furniture to facilitate cleaning of both floor and furniture surfaces. Maintains stocks of cleaning supplies and equipment necessary to perform assigned duties. Informs supervisor when more material is needed or when equipment is in need of repair or replacement.

NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours, 5 days per week, on shifts which include weekends and holidays. Working hours are from 08.00 to 16.30, including a 30-minute uncompensated lunch break.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet the qualification requirements as summarized below.

1. ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION;
2. WORK PRACTICES (INCLUDING KEEPING THINGS CLEAN, NEAT AND IN ORDER);
3. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.;
4. ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT;
5. DEXTERITY AND SAFETY.

NOTE: Elementary knowledge of the English language is desirable.
