ASSISTANT CLAIMS MANAGER, SHORT TAIL CLAIMS

Responsibilities:

• Handle property and construction claims efficiently (local HK claims and Multinational Claims), independently and in accordance with the company service standards, procedures and guidelines.
• Conduct site inspections for the claims if required.
• Assessment of appropriate claims reserves in accordance with company reserving philosophy
• Instructing and continuous monitoring the performance of the service providers whilst exercising independent adjudgment from claims perspective
• Compile claims statistics and perform claims portfolio analysis
• Attend clients facing activities for brokers/clients and conduct internal and external meetings and trainings
• Closely liaise with business units to update claims development/trend and support them in their business development activities
• Regular communications with other team members and active discussions on claims issues and observations
• Participate in the company’s claims related and other projects/initiatives
• Providing general assistance and support to management in the general running of claims operations (eg case sharing, providing claims data, responding to queries form other business functions etc)

Requirements:

• Degree or professional qualification holder in civil engineering or related discipline
• Insurance professional qualification e.g. ACII/FCII
• Minimum 8 years’ engineering claims handling experience. Candidates with construction related experience will be an advantage
• Analytical, responsible, proactive, solution-oriented, innovative and agile with good team work
• Excellent customer servicing mindset and skills
• Excellent Chinese and English writing and reporting skills
• Fluent in spoken English and Cantonese. Business level in spoken Mandarin.
